How often do you switch your TV or computer off completely? Chances are that this happens very rarely, if ever.
Most of us never completely shut down our computers, and will turn our TVs on and off with the remote. But did you know that the power used to keep your TV or laptop on standby makes up 10% of your energy bill? If that little red light is showing, it’s using energy even when you’re not using it.
In a time when energy costs are rising and the number of appliances and gadgets that require electricity in our home are increasing, a few small changes at home can make a big impact on our energy bills.
